Hair 101

Now I'm no cosmetologist, but even I know, this right here is a HOT MESS!!!

This is my hair after a good shampoo and conditioner at the salon BEFORE they combed it. It is full of tangles and curls, the story of my life. My friend Brittany, who works at the Aveda Salon thought I would be a good candidate for the Keratin Treatment. It's the one that takes out 75% of your curl and 50% of your frizz. Hmmmm, no idea why she thought I needed it? I don't see any frizz...HA

So I was asked to be their "model" in one of their classes on learning how to do these treatments. After 1 hour of being pampered very heavily, here is the final product!!

I will be getting this done regularly!! It is called the Keratin Express, and runs about $75 for those of you with curly or frizzy hair. I can still wear my hair curly, its just not as frizzy now. It last about 6 weeks.

Ok, some more product reviews. Brittany, who I consider the "hair expert", also told me to get a Hot Tools blow dryer. I found this bad boy at TJ MAXX for $29.99 and its a lot more expensive than that online. I have had a Chi and lots more expensive blow dryers, but this one is absolutely the BEST one I have ever used! It used to take 25 min to dry my hair. Now it takes 7!!! OH, and did I mention they come in pink?!

And finally, a strengthening treatment. Chi Keratin Mist. I have only used it for a week now and I can already tell a HUGE difference!!

Now these are only 2 of my favorite products in my bathroom. LUCKILY, I spared you of the other 98. That's a whole different blog!!

And speaking of hair...how in the world do I keep a bow in Maggie's hair?!!! I can see this is going to be on ongoing battle til she is 8.

15 Months

We have pig tails!!

Maggie was bumped up to the big girl room at school. The teacher told me they are working on feeding themselves in the class, and to let her start trying with a spoon. Well of course this makes for a VERY messy dinner, but it is so much fun to watch!!

Not sure if she is a lefty or righty. She can't decide either.

SOOO much fun though!

We played outside all day Saturday with the perfect weather!

Yesterday we had her 15 month check up. It would be an understatement to say she HATES the doctors office. She starts crying as soon as she sees the nurse. Well yesterday after she screamed through her 20 minutes appt, the doctor recommended we go buy a doctors kit at Toys R Us to let her play with and get used to. So we did...

She was so excited at first...

Until daddy got the stethoscope out...she is terrified

Happy again with the thermometer...

I have made this face a time or two in my life...uh oh!!

Taking her temp...

Let me just say...I had no idea how big they got from 12 months to 15!! She has learned SO much in just 3 short months. She says all kinds of words now, and repeats anything. She totally understands what I say to her, and we can communicate now! She gives the best kisses and hugs! She is giggly and happy most all of the time, and LOVES to be outside. She is very passionate about the outdoors, and throws a mild tantrum when you have to come inside. She weighs 23 lbs and is 31 inches long. Both in the 50th percentile. So not too big, and not too small. The doctor said she is very proportionate, so I guess that's a good thing! We are working on our 1 yr molars right now, and that is quite horrible!!! They have finally broken the skin, so hopefully the worst is behind us. I am home with her today with a 101 fever and a nasty cough. If it ain't ants, it's bees at our house. Of the joys of children. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. I LOVE a good opportunity to call in sick and stay home with my baby:)

OK I give myself a D- on blogging lately. But an A+ on hanging with my Maggie Moo and enjoying some QT, which is what really matters right:)

Christmas 2010

*Warning* Picture Overload

I just have to start off with how truly blessed I am. This holiday season was more emotional than most for me, and well, my heart can't help but be overflowing with love and joy for my perfect little family and the MANY blessings God has given us.

We started off our Christmas week with our churches candlelight service called White Christmas. This is my absolute favorite church service and it is always the Sunday night before Christmas which really gets me in the spirit for the week!!

Lovin Aunt KK's pretty necklace

Lovin her first taste of eggnog!!

Present time!!! She was on toy overload!!

Christmas morning we had everyone over to our house for breakfast and to see what Santa brought Maggie.

Still lovin her little people.

Her yummy wooden donuts. She likes to warm them up in the oven and then eat them while she sips her coffee.

She had to take every present over to show Pop.

her bread and butter toaster

having coffee with YaYa

Will NOT put her coffee cup down

stylin in Pop's new hat

Then after a much needed morning nap, we went back over to my parents bc Santa had made a trip by there as well!! He must have known Maggie was a good little girl this year!!

You better not try to take her microphone away from her!!

Then, after Christmas mommy had some much needed Maggie time!!!!!! We played outside in the 70 degree weather!!

We ended the Christmas season with a trip to the Lewis lights. Maggie was such a big girl and wanted to walk by herself and look at things. She was sweet and held her daddy's hand too!
