Gobble Gobble

Dear Turkey & Dressing,
I can't believe its been a whole year. I have missed you dearly. You were very good to me this year, once again, and I look forward to seeing you at Christmas.
Love,
Kimberly

This year I am thankful for having too much to be thankful for. I don't even know where to begin. I am thankful for our beautiful, healthy, joyful little baby girl. I am thankful for my supportive and loving husband, who works so hard for our family, who folds the clothes when I can't find the time, who does the dishes when I am too tired, who runs out to get dinner when I don't feel like cooking, who gets up in the middle of the night with me just because he wants to help, who loves me and supports me like no other...the list could go on and on. I am SO thankful for him. I am also thankful for living here and being so close to family this year, and able to share in the joy little Maggie brings us each and everyday! I am thankful for sisters, and the friendship that builds and grows each day with them. I am thankful for my mom, who is now the first person I call to tell anything and everything to. WHO KNEW?!! You couldn't have told me that when I was 16! I am thankful for Sadie...OF COURSE...even though I have not been acting like it. That's a whole another blog though! I need to give her some good lovin! And most importantly, I give thanks to my awesome God who gives me everlasting life.

We went over to my parents house today for Thanksgiving lunch. Here are a few pics from Maggie's first Thanksgiving.

The men...we didn't pay them much attention though.

The Women...we out number them good!

I am so thankful Maggie gets to spend Thanksgiving with her great grandmothers!!

And of course we had to do the 4 generation photo

And here are pics of my little booger bear!

Maggie is growing and changing each day. Clothes that were sooo big on her when we first brought her home are now too small. She is holding her head up really good, and starting to make noises like she wants to talk. She is really good at vowel sounds! She loves tummy time and is really good at it! She is a strong little thing. She is measuring 22 1/2 inches now, but I can't weigh her on my stupid scale. I am dying to know how much she has gained. I can't believe her next appointment is in 2 weeks. That means shots...yay!!! However, if I could freeze this very day and live in it for the rest of my life I would. Maggie wouldn't grow up, I wouldn't have to go back to work, Brian would be off of work, and we would have turkey and dressing everyday! HAPPY THANKSGIVING bloggers and blog readers!!!

Big Girl Bath

We got our first big girl bath today! We decided to forego the sponge bath this morning and take a dip in the whale! She loved it!! She was so content and didn't make a peep but to splash her hands in the water! Gosh I fall in love more each day! Daddy was sad he had to miss this but with our new phones I take lots of pictures and send them to him everyday!

I am reading "What to Expect the First Year," and am excited about all the upcoming events during her second month of life. She should be able to smile at me soon, and roll over, and follow my voice from side to side. She does something new everyday, and it just melts my heart. But the one thing I CANNOT wait for is her to smile at me. Not a smile when she is sleeping, but a real deal smile at her mamma!!! I will let you know asap when that happens, as I always have my camera handy now to capture these moments!!

Pictures!

I was told by Jill that I needed to post more pictures so here goes!

Recent things we are doing!
Trying to put our entire hand in our mouth and suck whatever fingers happen to stay in there!

Fussy time before bedtime!

Learning to sit in our boppy!

She is my little sleepers. She falls asleep in her car seat before we even pull out of the driveway. This is a picture after we got home. I brought her in the house bc I just couldn't wake this little face up!

We got a new winter coat! We love it!!

I realized the other day I have not even placed Maggie in her crib one time! She sleeps in her bassinet for the most part. With a couple of hours here and there in our bed. whoops:) However, she loves her bassinet and takes her naps there too so I have not been concerned with moving her to her crib. Well today I layed her down in there for a little while and she LOVED it! I even caught a little smile!

We are also trying out our bouncy seat. It plays music and rocks her and it is just great! However, she does look a little scared in it. ha!

We are all doing great here at the Moore house. Happiness is definitely in the air! We stayed around the house this weekend, as we can't do much with a 1 month old w/ no shots! Brian got the yard looking awesome. I planted pansies and snapdragons. I went on a much needed Walmart run. (I think its been 2 months!) And we had the family over for some football Saturday night, however no comment on the STATE game. ugh!!!!!!

Next weekend we are going to break out the Christmas boxes. I can't wait!! I already had my first Starbucks Peppermint Mocho frappuccino which means the Christmas season has begun!

Stir Crazy

I have been going a little stir crazy sitting at home! December 16th get here!! That's when Maggie has her shots, and then I will at ease about taking her places with me. Until then, its home sweet home! Unless my mom keeps her, which she did for a few hours this afternoon so I could run into town to do some errands. It was so nice smelling fresh air, and seeing this beautiful fall weather. And driving...its just nice to get in my car and drive. I decided to go jean shopping today. BIG MISTAKE!! Someone should have told me to at least wait a month before I go try on blue jeans. Needless to say...I did not buy any and its back to the old black stretch pants for now!!

When I dropped Maggie off at my moms, she was asleep. When I picked her up a few hours later, she hadn't even made a peep. This child is a sleeper!! Thank the lord!! She went to sleep last night at 11, and only got up one time in the night to eat around 3. She is such a little angel! I can't believe she will be a month old on Friday. This time at home with her is flying by way too fast. I am supposed to go back to work in 4 weeks. I can't even talk about it!!!

Tomorrow morning we are doing Maggie's newborn photo shoot! I am so excited and can't wait to capture her at this precious little age! The photographer is coming to our house so it works out perfectly. I will post the link to the pictures when I get them back!

Brian and I entered the tech world this week and I am very proud of myself. I got a blackberry! And he got the new HTC touch phone. He is obsessed with his. His is so cool though! Of course...I really could care less about mine and have learned the basics, calling, texting, etc. I did learn how to get on facebook with my phone and that has been awesome! And my favorite feature...taking pictures! I now have a camera on my phone and I can send picture messages. Watch out! If I have your number you may be getting pictures of Maggie quite often:)

10 Honest Facts

I love doing things like this. Thanks Heather for the nomination! Maggie happens to be sleeping right now so I did find time!

1- I once snuck out of my own house to roll(toilet paper) my own house. My sister was a freshman and I was a junior. Not the greatest idea because my dad caught us rolling the yard, and then I got grounded. Hoping Maggie is NOTHING like I was in high school!

2- When I was younger, I really really wanted to be like Jenny on Forrest Gump. I thought she was the coolest! I think that's where my hippy side came from...I attribute it to Jenny. Funny thing...Forrest Gump is Brian's favorite movie!

3- I have a small four leaf clover tattoo on my right foot. Beach trip to Destin...sophomore year of college. We all went and picked out tattoos. I, of course, volunteered to go first. Somehow...I was the only one that ended up with a tattoo this trip. I think I was tricked!! Thanks girlfriends! I do think it brings me good luck though!

4- I love a good FAD diet. I have tried them all. They usually work, but of course you gain it back. Lifestyle changes Kimberly! I am already trying to figure out what diet to do to get this post baby weight off! Gonna give weight watchers a shot I think. But there is some new diet doctor on the coast that I have heard great things about. I am a sucker for a new diet!

5- I LOVE to cook and LOVE trying new recipes! I would cook every day and night if I had the time and energy. However...I have trouble baking. Every time I make a cake or cookies, they never turn out like they are supposed to. I like a recipe that you don't have to follow exactly, and can improvise with my tastes or whatevers in the pantry.

6- I used to write poems all the time in high school. Not very many people know this. They were really good too! I have a secret poem diary kept in a secret box where no one can read them. I don't even think Brian has read them. I love going back and reading them from time to time. Takes me back to the old school when I was so cool.

7- If I could change anything about me, I would be able to sing. I am totally tone deaf...thanks Dad. Brian can't sing either. Maggie has no hope.

8- One of my very favorite things to do is to take a good road trip, especially when its to go hear a good band. I am concert deprived right now...and in desperate need of some good live music!!!

9- I was once in the band and played the saxophone. I was really good but I dropped out bc the band wasn't cool! I used to take piano lessons and was really good too. Then quit because I wanted to do other things after school. I got a guitar in college and took lessons. Then quit because I didn't have time. Do you see a trend here? I really wish I would have stuck with one of these instruments. I would love to be able to play something!

10- I am notorious for good falls. I trip over my own two feet all the time. But you better be quick to see me bc I will bounce back up so fast! My most embarrassing moment...8th grade Movie nite. Remember how everyone would meet at the mall and line up to get tickets right by the door. Well it was raining and my mom dropped me off and I was running in, tripped and slid about 10 feet into the mall. I had a skirt on and it flew up. Let's just say I got a good laugh out of everyone in line!

I hope that you enjoyed this and learned something new :) I don't have any more blogger friends to nominate. sniff sniff

About Time!!

You know when you go a long time without blogging...you feel that your next blog should be something really good because people have been checking your blog waiting to see what you write. Well I have a good excuse people!! Margaret Grace Moore (Maggie) arrived October 16, 2009 at 3:39pm weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz and 19 inches long! Not to mention a head full of dark black hair!! She is an angel! All you bloggers told me how much my pregnancy complaints and pains would be worth it...but I don't think I could possibly fathom the happiness of motherhood until it happened! I have a smile on my face all day long. I just sit and stare at her half the day. She really is such a good baby. She fusses at times, but all in all, she eats and sleeps when she is supposed to! I feel so lucky and blessed to have such a joy in my life!!

Now I won't even go into detail about everything I went through in the hospital. Let's just say after 6 nights at Forrest General, I am SOOOO glad to be home and it might be a long long time til I am blogging about #2 on the way. For now, Maggie occupies my time quite nicely. I can see why moms say it is a full time job! BC IT IS!! But it is the best job in the whole wide world! I am smitten...

Also...I think you fall in love with your husband all over again after going through this process together and seeing the way he connects with our little girl! He is so good with her, and is going to be the best daddy! Not to mention they look exactly alike! His mom brought baby pictures of him this weekend. I will have to get the scanner out. He and Maggie were twins at birth!

Here are recent pics!!
