2 Year Stats

Well I called and begged the doctor to get us in sooner than December for Maggie's 2 year check up...since we have a little package arriving in 2 weeks! And the nurse agreed, so she squeezed us in yesterday. Maggie weighs 28.6 lbs and is 35 inches long. She was a little under the 75th percentile in both, so healthy as a horse! We got a great report, and she passed all the silly questions they ask like..."Can she kick a ball?" etc.

However, even though she is healthy as a horse, it was still a traumatic visit for everyone. Luckily, Brian was there for back up bc we literally had to hold her body down on the table for him to look in her ears, mouth, etc. She was screaming like I have never heard her scream. We didn't get shots at this appointment so I'm hoping she will start to realize the doctor is not all that bad!!! The 2 suckers he gave her did help, but only after he left the room! Aghhhhhh. It was no fun for mommy and daddy, but glad all is well with her!

Recipes as Promised!!

These are some of the yummy things I have been cooking up lately! Thank you pinterest!

Tomato and Mozzarella Pasta

*This was delicious but had no meat. If your husband is a meat and potatoes guy, this would be great with chicken! I think next time I will add spinach too!

Corn and Potato Chowder

Black Bean and Sour Cream Enchiladas

One Pot Pasta
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 package fresh mushrooms, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp olive oil
2 jars tomato-basil spaghetti sauce
1 cup water
1 Tb dried Italian seasoning, or just basil and oregano is fine
1 20 oz. package refrigerated 4-cheese ravioli
1 cup shredded mozzarella

Cook ground beef and drain. Set aside. In large pot, saute onion & mushrooms in olive oil until soft. Add garlic and saute for another minute. Stir in cooked beef, 1 cup water, spaghetti sauce, and seasonings. Let the sauce simmer for 30 min or longer. When ready to serve, bring sauce to a boil and add the ravioli, reduce heat to medium low, stirring occasionally for 8 minutes or until pasta is done. Stir in cheese and serve immediately.

This little girl ate every single bite!!

Chicken and Artichoke Casserole
2 cups chopped, cooked chicken (or use a rotisserie)
1 box Uncle Bens Original Wild Rice
1 can artichoke hearts, drained
1 small jar diced pimentos, drained
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup mayo
1 tube ritz crackers
butter
garlic salt

Cook rice according to package. Then mix together rice, cooked chicken, artichoke hearts, pimentos, water chestnuts, mayo, & cream of chicken soup. Put in greased casserole dish. Melt some butter and add a little garlic salt to it for the topping. Crush the tube of ritz crackers and spread on top. Then drizzle with the garlic butter. Bake COVERED at 350 for 30 minutes or until bubbly. May need to uncover the last 5 minutes to brown crackers.

Enjoy!! Post some of your fall favorites as well!

Major Catch Up

I should have posted Maggie's 2 year stats by now, but this forgetful, pregnant brain forgot to make her a 2 year old check up appt! When I finally called, they could not see her until December!! So we patiently wait...

In the meantime, her personality is in full bloom!! She is stubborn, opinionated, independent, and much much much like someone else I know!! (me!!!) She definitely wakes up every morning knowing exactly which TV show she would like to watch, exactly what she would like to eat for breakfast, what outfit she would like to wear, and what color bow she is going to wear with it(even if it doesn't match!) I probably hear the words, "my do it," about 30 times a day. She wants to read her own book, fix her own hair, brush her own teeth, etc etc!

She is obsessed with her two different boots. Boots(from Dora) and her rainboots. They are both nearby at all times! We have to tuck Boots the monkey in every night with her blanket and then pat him night night! She looks so big to me in this picture. She is talking up a storm and says the funniest things all the time. The other day we walked outside and she said, "Ahhhh, the leaves are just beautiful!" She is calling Brian and me "guys" now, and everything is "hey guys, no guys, bye guys, etc." No idea where she picked up on that! She also calls me "mom" and Brian "dad" now. Again, when did she grow up so fast?!! I hear "No Way Mom" about 10 times a day. She is a mess! With that being said, she is still the sweetest little girl I know! I have been keeping her home from school a lot lately to get extra cuddles and kisses before baby arrives! I'm feeling emotional and guilty for what she is about to go through, but I know we will all be fine!

We stayed home for a few days last week and attempted potty training. DISASTER!!! This big mama could barely bend down to the floor to clean up her messes all day. Needless to say, we will attempt that again after Miller arrives!

Speaking of Miller, he is weighing in at a whopping 6. 25 lbs already and still has 3 1/2 weeks to go! The date has been scheduled for December 8th, as long as my blood pressure doesn't continue to keep going up, which it has done at my last 2 appts. He may be here earlier than that! I would like to report that I am feeling great, but let's face it, I am miserable. I can't breathe, walk, eat, shower, or anything else without it requiring 10 times for energy that most people. I have never been this exhausted in my life. 3 1/2 weeks seems like an eternity away, but I know it is better for him to stay in there as long as possible, so I'm trying to have a good attitude about it! I cannot wait to see what my little bug looks like!! I'm guessing he will look like Maggie's twin, which means he will look like Brian's twin. Those Moore genes always seem to dominate! I'm expecting a little turned up nose and a head full of jet black hair! I may be totally wrong though!

In other news, my sister and Brian finished a 10K last weekend. Brian literally ran one time for practice before this race, and then came in 2nd! Who does that?!! I was very proud of them both!

It helped that they had the best cheerleader out there!!

Stay tuned for some yummy recipes. I've been cooking alot(nesting), and have tried several new things off of Pinterest. I will post soon!

A Cupcake Kind of Weekend

Halloween weekend started with a school party on Friday afternoon. Everyone came to enjoy it with us, and see the little cup-e-cake!

It was over once she got her candy and goodies. She hardly even looked up from eating her pile of junk!

Except she was not a fan of oreos and made sure to let everyone know they were "YUCK!!"

A little cranky from all the sugar after her party!

Saturday my parents took Maggie to the pumpkin patch! After much deliberation, she picked out this perfect pumpkin to bring back home. She has been holding it non stop and if you try to get her to put it down, she says "MYYYY pumpkin patch!" Notice she has a wooden spoon pretending to eat the pumpkin!

Then Monday, we went trick or treating for the first time! Our first stop was YaYa and Pop's house!

Aunt KK walked her around to the neighbors houses too! She did so good. Except when the people came to the door, instead of trick or treat, she would say "More Candy Pleeeeeease!"

35 weeks prego here! I can't believe I'm posting these but it will be fun for Maggie and Miller to go back and look at I guess!

Then we headed over to Bellegrass for a fun hay ride and some more trick or treating with her buddy Anna Caston.

Both covered in stickiness from all the suckers!

Daddy being a good sport and walking her everywhere since Mommy is rather large!!

One Year

I don't have a handwritten journal, I have a blog. And I print it every year and read it ALL the time. With hopes that my kids will enjoy the heck out of it one day! With that being said, I feel like I have to document this for future references, so here goes.

Today marked a year that my 2nd little girl was born and went to live in heaven. It was by far the worst day of my life. But as I lay in bed last night snuggling tight with Maggie, Miller was kicking the mess out of my rib cage. For a quick second, I wanted to complain about it. And then it hit me. I am the luckiest girl alive. And I already cannot imagine my life without Miller. He will be here in less than 6 short weeks!! Who was I to question God a year ago? Of course he had a perfect plan for me. He always does. And I couldn't be more excited about what the future holds for my family.

The jumpy was a big hit!!

Eating her "cuppycake"

And her ice cream with strawberries and sprinkles!

ooh...lots of mickey mouse and Dora stuff! her favorite!

her new trike from YaYa and Pop!! Notice she has on her Dora apron from Aunt KK. She didn't take it off the whole party!

Sweet cousins came all the way from Oxford for her party!

My sweet friends!

best friends...

Sweet Jack and his beautiful mommy...I just love these two pictures!

After a super fun birthday party on Saturday, we took Maggie to her first movie on Sunday, her real birthday. We saw the Lion "mooney" and ate lots of "pockcorn."

I can honestly say, she was perfect! It went better than my wildest expectations. She sat in her seat and ate her popcorn almost the whole time. Sweet girl climbed in daddy's lap at the end and fell sound asleep! It didn't help that we went right during nap time! Needless to say, she had a blast and we will be taking her to a movie again!

Still wearing her 3D glasses from the movie.

Happy Birthday baby girl! These past 2 years have flown by! You have brought more joy, smiles, laughter and love into our house than I could have ever imagined! We love you more and more everyday!

Growing Right Along...

This sweet boy wouldn't quit sucking on his hand during our ultrasound today! He is weighing around 3.5 lbs(on the big side) and perfectly healthy!! Do you notice who he looks like?!!! YEP...me!! That poor boy has my big ol pudgy nose!! BUT...I can honestly say...the idea of having a little boy that looks like me is thrilling...since Brian stole all of the thunder with Maggie! We all know who she looks like!

I have excellent news to report...I started my maternity leave today! Woo Hoo!! I could not be more excited and plan on spending the next few weeks getting lots of love from my Maggie Moo while it's just her in the house! And we have a big birthday party coming up this weekend, so I will post lots of pics soon!!
