Baby Story Part 1

OK...so I really enjoyed reading all of your first baby stories, so here goes mine...

This day last year, I checked into the hospital to have my little baby girl.

I had a relaxing morning. I cooked myself an omelette, drank my coffee, watched the today show, and probably played on facebook all morning. I was already off work at this point, but my due date wasn't until Oct. 28th. I had been to my 38 week appointment earlier in the week, and my blood pressure had been a little high, but I didn't think anything of it. But on this day, around noon, Dr. Kot personally called me. She said to pack my bags, go check into the hospital, that I was having a baby very soon! Turns out the results of my urinalysis and blood work had come back and I had developed preeclampsia at 38 weeks.

I called Brian and told him to get home ASAP and pack his bags to take me to the hospital. I called everyone that needed to know, and calmly took a shower, shaved my legs, straightened my hair, and put on make up. I figured it would be the last time I felt clean for a really long time! Brian got home and was much more frantic than I was. I remember he was very concerned about what kind of clothes he needed to pack. Luckily, the car seat was already in my car and I already had Maggie's bags packed. I did this weeks before!

Off we went to check into the hospital. Got there around 4. I made Brian stop at Wendys on the way there bc I was scared they weren't going to feed me for 3 days(I was right!). I got a junior bacon cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, and a sweet tea! I made Brian sneak my tea into the hospital bc for some reason I was scared they were going to make me throw it away. We got all checked in, settled into our room, hooked up to all the annoying machines, and the nurses told me the doctor would be in at 5am the next day to induce me.

Stay tuned...

FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have I mentioned October is my VERY favorite month!! The leaves are changing, weather is cooler, football season, the smell of burning leaves and charcoal grills, fall flavors at Starbucks, fall colors and new clothes, my wedding anniversary, and my baby girl's birthday!!!

I can't believe I am planning her first birthday party and its this weekend. MY how time flies!! She is one busy little bee these days. I don't have alot of pictures but I can promise after the weekend and her party I will!!

She is obsessed with Daddy's shoes. She drags them around the house at all times, even when she is fussing.

It has been so gorgeous lately, we have spent every afternoon outside! Usually when I pick her up from school, we do something fun just the 2 of us. Sometimes we stroll, or play outside with Sadie, or go to the park. She LOVES to swing!!

She has recently discovered my tupperware drawer...

Stay tuned for bday party pictures and Maggie's birth story coming soon!

Best Buddies

So I said in my previous post I was looking forward to my 2 little munchkins being best friends. But I'm afraid this friendship might get in the way...

Mr. Mom

This past week was at blur. First Maggie had the stomach virus, then Brian, then me! Brian had to play Mr. Mom for 2 days bc I was too sick to get out of bed. Some of his tasks included dressing, bathing, feeding, taking to and from school, etc etc. He did wonderful!! I was very impressed with his Mr. Mom skills. He even had to take her to the doctor by himself. He only called 5 times during the whole doctor visit, which I thought was pretty good. :) He took Maggie to Target after her appointment to get her medicine and called me shortly after he got there to say..."How do I pee when I have Maggie?" I chuckled, "HA!!!!! YOU DON'T!! Welcome to my world!!"
All ready for school by Daddy!!

prime example of her hourly temper tantrum...

Notice all the scratches on her face...we bang our head on something at least 10 times a day. NO...that's an understatement. More like 20. The girl is a monkey and climbs up everything!

oooh...she cuts her little eyes at me and I can see myself so much in her. Oh goodness I am in for it!

CRAZY!

So I know what you're thinking...bc we are thinking it too!!! YES...we are CRAZY!!! YES...they will ONLY be 17 months apart. YES...it will be like having twins for a while. Needless to say...this was a big surprise to you, and a big surprise to us as well!!! We are super excited though, and can't wait for our little munchkins to be best friends!!! At least until high school...

I am now 13 weeks, due March 29th. So far, so good. This one is already night and day different than my pregnancy with Maggie. I feel so much better, and much less sick! Boy maybe????
I look forward to blogging with you through my journey with Baby #2!

I managed to go this whole week without taking 1 new picture. Sorry!!! Maggie is wonderful, and walking all over the place. She is very excited about becoming a big sister, but has promised me that she will remain a baby for as long as she possibly can!!!
