John Russell Crumpton

Sweet little Jack Crumpton arrived Friday night at 6:59pm, weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and measuring 21 inches long. He is pure sweetness and perfection. Everyone is doing great! He is home now and getting adjusted just fine!! I must say, I was impressed with Maggie's behavior this weekend. She was a big girl about baby Jack coming into this world. She was very gentle with him, and liked to touch his feet. Mags has been the queen bee in our family for a year and 1/2 now, so she did great sharing YaYa and Pop for the first time!!

We love you Jack!!!

Stay tuned for pictures of Mags big Easter weekend. I only took 280 pictures!!

18 Months

We had Maggie's 18 month check up this week. She is 33 inches long(85th percentile) and 25 lbs(50th percentile). He said she is growing up instead of out, and had a huge growth spurt since her last appointment. She is going to have her daddy's figure I think!

Some things about Maggie that I just have to write down. She is the most lovey dovey child I have ever seen. She wants to be touching me at all times, and sitting in my lap with her cheek pressed against my cheek. She gives a million kisses and hugs a day. She is just so affectionate and I absolutely adore it! NOW...she is also MISS INDEPENDENT though. She will not let me do anything for her anymore. Its quite frustrating sometimes, but I have to laugh because she totally gets it from me! She is busy busy busy. I mean she will not sit down for 2 seconds. She will hardly sit down and watch a TV show. She will hardly stop to eat. Speaking of eating, she has become the pickiest eater alive. Dinner is a struggle every night. She would eat fruit and cheese for every meal if it was up to her.

She is speaking in sentences, but who knows what she is saying. She babbles and every once in a while I'll catch a word I can understand. We are working on counting to 10, and she does pretty good. She cannot remember her 4's or 7's. She knows some of her colors. She still LOVES to read. She is still pretty shy around other people. It takes her a good 30 minutes to an hour to warm up when we go anywhere and then she is fine. I don't mind if she clings to me though:)

Warming up donuts in the oven

Live at 5 downtown. This is a little festival downtown Hattiesburg puts on every Friday night of April and October. There is food and live music and Mags loves it!! She dances and runs around and plays with her friends.

We also took her to Zoo Blues at the Hattiesburg Zoo. The zoo is probably her second favorite place to be, first being anywhere outside!

And last but not least, we got a visit from her cousins. These girls love each other so much and it was so cute to watch them play and interact. I wish they weren't so far away and we could play every weekend!!

STAY TUNED...my sister is having her baby on Friday!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!! Will post pictures soon of the very anticipated Jack Crumpton!!

Just Another Day

My due date was this week. It came and passed just like any other day. I didn't say anything to anyone, and no one said anything to me(except 1 good friend and she knows who she is). I have been dreading this day for months. I didn't know how I would react or what kind of emotions it would stir up. I didn't know if I should treat it like any old day or treat it with something a little more special. I had read on the internet that it was a good idea to write a letter to my child, and say all the things I wish I could say to her. But life happens, and before I knew it, the day was over just like any other day. I sort of feel a bit of relief now.

Grief is something crazy. It comes and goes with waves of emotions that I never knew existed. And while I don't write about my other little girl very much, I think about her every second of every day. And I take comfort in knowing she is running and playing on the biggest playground in the world. And no matter how many kids we have here on this earth, we have one more waiting on us in heaven.

Hooooo's the cutest girl in the world??

This girl is!!!!

She is obsessed with owls right now, so of course I had to get her an owl shirt made. She wants to wear it everyday now. I have to put it out of sight so she won't see it and start screaming Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo!!!!

She loves to pick wild flowers in the back yard, and bring them to me in a bouquet. Daddy taught her this:)

She loves her sandbox, but is very particular. She likes her 2 certain shovels, and does NOT like the sand to touch her hands.

I could not get her to remove the sippy cup:(

Who doesn't like to explore in someone else's back yard. It is always more fun! So we went to YaYa and Pop's on Saturday to play by the water! She could play outside all day every day.

Looking for fishes

We went to the doctor today bc Mags has a fever and a terrible cough. We ended up leaving with allergy medicine. Apparently he thinks Maggie should be on some during this pollen season. I couldn't believe how good she did! She didn't scream as soon as she saw the doctor, which is a huge milestone. And she let him listen to her chest without crying! Now the ears are another story. You can't look in her ears without a really good meltdown. He commented on how much taller she had gotten since he saw her last in January. I hadn't noticed, but then on the way home I noticed her feet were hanging way over her car seat and almost touching my seat. I had also noticed this week she can now touch all door knobs in the house so I guess she has gone through a little growth spurt! She looks so big in these pictures to me:(

Some fun Maggie facts:
She wants the PB(TV) on as soon as she wakes up!
She is becoming a big time daddy's girl.
She loves doing the itsy bitsy spider.
She loves bath time!!!
She calls herself Mammie, and gets so excited if you say any sentence with her name in it.
She has learned the word "mine" and uses it quite frequently.
Every day when we come in from school, she climbs in Brians leather chair to watch Yo Gabba Gabba and drinks her meek(milk). She looks like such a big girl in his chair!

I know...everyone told me it got better as she got older. But I didn't see how. And once again, I don't see how it can get any better than this?!!!!

The Doo(Zoo)

We have an Ipad App that Maggie plays with all the time. It teaches her all her zoo animals and the noises they make. It is crazy that Maggie uses our Ipad all the time. We didn't have a family computer until I was in high school I think. Crazy how times change! Anyway, she loves the Doo and always wants to play with her zoo app. So we figured it was time to take her to the actual zoo. So we spent the day in New Orleans this past Saturday!

She ooohed and ahhhhed and pointed at everything from a safe distance away on Daddy's shoulders.

She made this face at every single animal.

Riding the carousel was definitely the hit of the day. She was a little skeptical at first, but after seeing several other kids get on, she wanted to ride. She had a tiny melt down when we had to get off.

Brian always says one of the many reasons he loves me is bc I am so expressive. I have no idea what he is talking about...

My two twins looking at the ducks. She gave them a few loud "whack whacks!" The ducks were definitely her favorite animal of the day.

We got into road construction on I-10 going down there. So what usually takes less than 2 hrs took 4 1/2. We were a little flustered when we finally got there. But seeing her face and how much fun she had was all worth it. I would have driven to California to see her have that much fun!

She loves Mr. Big Bear and carries him everywhere.

Unfortunately Mr. Big Bear gets sick a lot, so she has to listen to his heart and take his temperature. YES, we have finally warmed up to the Doctor Kit!!

We even have to listen to Sadie's heart. Poor Sadie! She should win a prize for everything she puts up with around here!

On a side note, I want a spring break this week!!! I am throwing myself a pity party if anyone wants to join in.

Top 10

Top 10 things I LOVE about Maggie right now...

10. She waits for me to get out the shower with my towel, and has this huge grin on her face like she has accomplished the world when she hands it to me.

9. As soon as she wakes up, she finds the remote control and brings it to me saying, "PB Momma, PB." That is Maggie talk for turn on the TV, the Fresh Beat Band is starting!!

8. She squeals like a little pig when Yo Gabba Gabba is coming on.

7. She is the cuddliest thing I have ever seen! She loves hugs, kisses, and sitting in my lap whenever possible. She is the most affectionate little girl and I LOVE it!!!

6. She loves to say everyones name in our family, including Sadie, over and over again. They are studying family right now in school.

5. She has a new found love for girl scout cookies. If she sees me getting the box out of the pantry to give her one, she yells with excitement! Then, if I only give her 1, she has a slight meltdown. Takes after her father.

4. She loves to help me with whatever I am doing. Laundry, Dishes, picking up her toys. She is actually great at cleaning up when I tell her to. I think she is going to be tidy like her momma!

3. She is obsessed with learning colors right now, and everything is yewoe or boo.

2. She is beyond obsessed with barn yard animals. Her favorites are the duck, cow, owl and sheep. The other day at Corner Market, she mooed at everyone when we walked by them. Got a couple of weird stares.

1. And last but definitely #1 on my list...Every night when I put her in her high chair to eat she clasp her hands together to pray. The other night Brian and I sat down and started eating and totally forgot to say the blessing. We look over and Maggie is just sitting there with her hands clasped ready to pray! Sweetest thing ever!!
